Dr. Wanda Filer is a family physician and founder of the Strategic Health Institute. She earned her medical doctorate from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia and completed her residency in family practice at Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, NJ, where she also served as chief resident.

Dr. Filer has a part-time clinical practice in York, PA and served as Pennsylvania's first Physician General. Through her Strategic Health Institute, she combines the arenas of policy, public health education, and the media to build awareness of today's health issues and the need for change. Dr. Filer speaks to national audiences such as: Women in Government, Legislative Action Committees and has testified at Government hearings on various issues. Dr. Filer appears nightly on the Lancaster, PA NBC affiliate WGAL8 as a health correspondent, reaching over one million households nightly and delivering a broad array of health messages.

Dr. Filer is actively involved with many organizations on health policy improvement and advocacy development. Her main areas of focus include advancement of health services for underserved populations, family violence and community response to family violence, health advocacy development and public health improvement efforts. She lectures extensively on topics regarding public policy, public health, and patient access.
